The West Bengal Online App Cab Guild reported that the hike will impose an additional daily burden of ₹50-60 on operators, raising concerns about imminent fare hikes or reduced services. Similarly, the All India Transporters' Welfare Association estimates that overall freight costs in the region will rise by approximately 3%. While transporters describe the hike as "expected" due to geopolitical volatility, they have urged the state government to reduce local levies to prevent a cascade of price increases on essential goods.
